Madagascar is an island country in South-east Africa, formerly known as the Malagasy Republic. It is located in the Indian Ocean. There are numbers of small islands as well as a large island of the same name. Due to presence of some of unique and rarest species of wildlife, it is considered to be a biodiversity hotspot. The major economic activities in the country include agriculture and tourism. Additionally, education, health and private businesses contribute towards overall development of the country. Many tourist spots in the country have led to large scale influx of tourists from across the globe each year.
