Bonaire is a part of the ABC group of islands in the Caribbean Sea. It is an island that is located in the Leeward Antilles close to the Western side of the Venezuela. The ABC group is formed by Bonaire along with Aruba and Curacao islands. The capital of the island is Kralendijk. The island has got its name from the word ‘Bonay’. Basically, it stands for low country. It is admired most by the scuba divers. Besides Sint Eustatius and Saba, it is one among the three BES islands of the region. It attained the status of a distinct metropolis in Netherlands in the year 2010.
