Sint Eustatius, known as Statia due to affection by the locals is a part of the Caribbean, Netherlands. It is a Carribean Island and an officially a public body of the Netherlands. It lies about 26 km Southeast of Saba and 8km northwest of the Island of St. Kitts whose capital is Oranjestad.  English is their spoken language and tourism is important here due to numerous attractive spots and water bodies for divers. This Island is in the Northern Leeward islands part of the West Indies and Southeast of the Virgin lands. It is right away to the northwest of Saint Kitts and to the Southeast of the Saba. The special municipalities carry most of the functions and are normally performed by the Dutch municipalities.
