EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT WASHINGTON SLAGBAAI BONAIRE

Situated in the Carribean of the Island of Bonaire, the Washinton Slagbaai National Park lies to the northeast and is a famous ecological reserve. Bonaire lies south of the Carribean off the Venezuelan Coast and is one of the island municipalities of the Netherlands. The Washington Slaagbai National Park is managed by STINAPA and is a habitat which is safe for endangered species like the parakeets, flamingos, parrots and iguanas. Spread over 5,643 hectares of land, this ecological reserve has a beach which is a nesting ground for sea turtles and can be accessed by the ‘long’ as well as the ‘short’ route. While the ‘long’ route passes through places like Boca Cocalishi, Boca Bartol, Wayaca and other places, the ‘short’ route takes the path through the interior of the park like a beeline. Walking trails, museum and heritage sites are some of the significant features of this national park where large numbers of tourists come to visit every year. It is open every day and stays open from 8 AM till 5 PM.
