Brussels is the capital city of Belgium in Western Europe and is the de jure capital region comprising of 19 municipalities, having an area of 161.4 square kilometers. Brussels borders the North Sea and shares its boundaries with the Netherlands, Luxemburg, Germany and France. The regions include Wallonia, Ganshoren, Koekelberg, Flanders, Evere,Anderlecht, Jette, and Brussels itself. Wide Boulevards surround this city which is shaped like a pentagon at the site where there are the old walls of the city. Brussels comprises of two segments, the lower town and the upper town. The lower town is located in the valley of the Senne River and is the home to many industries and businesses and historical sites that reflects the heritage of this city and the country. The upper town is situated on the east slope of the Senne valley, where you will find residential and government buildings, the Royal Palace and offices of the different ministries.
