Dalmatia is one of the four historical regions of Croatia. It is a narrow belt of Adriatic Sea in the eastern side. The mainland ranges in the width of 50 kilometers in the north. In the south the width reduced drastically. Majority of the portion is covered with the Dinaric Mountains. It has 79 islands that run parallel to its coast. The main islands are Brac, Pag and Hvar. Split is the largest as well as the capital city of the country. Dalmatia has many vibrant cafes. It is very famous for its food particularly fish and locally made wine.
