The village is the birthplace of Nicolas Claude Fabri de Peiresc who was a famous astronomer. The village covers a total area of 13.38 sq.km. Belgentier is located on the banks of the Gapeau River and is bordered by hills, oaks, pine trees and olive woods. You will find the people talking in French.
