History

The town derives its name from the Latin word Draco which means Dragon. The folk tales reveal that the wayfarers to the monastery of Lerins were scared by a monstrous dragon which was killed by Hermentaire. A Roman fort with a clock tower was built in the 17th century. The town excelled on the path of progress and is an awesome tourist spot now.
