La-Seyne-sur-Mer is a small famous for ship-building trade in France. It is situated in the south eastern portion of the country. It is a municipality in the Var subdivision at the base of Cape Sicie. The district in which this town falls is Provence Alpes-Côte d’Azur. The city is in fact famous for having one of the most excellent yards for shipbuilding in the Europe. It is in fact the major source of income for the local people. Also tourism is a major economic activity in the city. The city is known for the Osiris class nuclear reactors of Iraq that were built here. These reactors were destroyed by Israel in Operation Opera. An area of around 22.17sq.km is covered by the city for its expansion. It overlooks the Toulon bay and the open sea. The city is in fact famous for fishing and sea surfers.

In the history of the city, the shipbuilding industry was quite important. It was due to this industry that the city made progress by leaps and bounds. La-Seyne-sur-Mer has a warm and temperate climate. The summers receive relatively lesser rainfall in comparison to the winter season. The climate here is classified into Csa type as per viewpoint of Koppen and Geiger classification system. Average calculated temperature recorded in the city is 15.2 °C. It has an average rainfall of 670 mm. At the highest average temperature of 23.0 °C, July is the hottest month in the city. In contrast to this, January is the coldest month as it has the least average temperature of 8.5 °C. The maximum and minimum rainfall received in the city is 88mm and 9mm respectively. It is during the months of October and July in that order. In a year, there is variation of around 14.5 °C in the average temperatures.
