Le Brusc or simply known as The Brusc is a small village in the Var Provence in France. It is a city of the Six-Four-les-Plages in the south eastern part of the country. It is in fact a small rural community that is chiefly dominated by fishing. It is a lovely medieval village that is sandwiched between Toulon and Marseille. The city lies close to the Toulon town. It offers an excellent view to the visitors due to presence of numbers of harbours and other things of natural beauty. It is really an amazing experience strolling along the streets of the city.

History

The human population existed in the city at the time of Upper Palaeolithic age. It is evident from the remains found in an area known as ‘the Leque’. It was only during 3rd century that the city of Le Brusc was discovered. During 15th century, a well-equipped building was used in Mouret on the heights of the city to safeguard the local trade. The city came under the possession of the Romans during 2nd century following numerous assaults. Then it remained under the occupancy of the Visigoths, Ostrogoths and the Franks. Finally it was Christianized during the 5th century. During ancient times, the Viscount of Marseille was the ruler of the Kingdom of Provence Six Fours Le Brusc. In 1486, it came under the administration of the France. At the end of the 1st World War, tourism industry flourished in the city. The port was damaged severely during the 2nd World War. There was downfall in the fishing industry during this time. But the city became a centre of seaside tourism and yachting. In 1927, the sculptor called as Paul Landowski moved to the city and accomplished most of his work here.

It is Csa type in accordance with Koppen and Geiger classification system. The average temperature and the annual average rainfall in the city are 15.2 °C and 655 mm respectively. The highest and lowest average temperatures recorded in the city is 23.1 °C and 8.3 °C in that order. These temperatures are recorded during the months of July and October correspondingly. Similarly, maximum and minimum rainfall occurs in the months of July and January respectively. The average rainfall recorded during these months is 87mm and 9mm respectively. The difference in the maximum and minimum precipitation during the year is 78mm. All through the year a variation of 14.8 °C is recorded in the annual temperatures.
