Popularly known as the capital of fig, Sollies-Pont is a small town or village in the south-eastern France. This amazingly beautiful city is located in the Var district of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur area of the country. There are vines, flowers and olive trees all around the city. It is located on the banks of the River Gapeau. The fresh figs that are also known by the name violet Sollies are the particularity of the place. It is in fact the first French village that produces figs. The village also finds mentioned in the Russian poem called as the ‘Provence’. This poem was written by Vladimir Nabokov in 1923. The city also received AOC in June 2006 following recognition and appreciation by the renowned chefs. The city expands over an area of 17.73sq.km.
