Situated in the south-eastern France, Tourrettes is a town in the Var subdivision of the country. It is located in the Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Azur area. It is one among a chain of ‘hovering villages’ that overlook the plain amid the southern-Alps and the Esterel Massif. This chain of villages shares their boundaries with the sea amid Cannes and Saint-Rapheal. It is an Old Provencal village that is known for its natural scenic beauty. It is popular due to its tourist spots. The city is positioned on the road that leads to Mons and then gets connected with the Route Napolean. It is supposed to be a medieval village. History

The history of the city can be traced back to the year 1024 when first records of its name Castrum De Torretis are found. During prehistoric periods, Paleolithic civilizations occupied the city. It is evident from a shelter found at the Pie-Lombard on the rock face above the Loup River. It is believed that the city was once inhabited by the Ligurians and Romans. In the medieval times during 1387, the Guichard Villeneuve controlled the fief of Tourrettes. From 14th century to 1789, the city remained a portion of the Seigneurie des Villeneuve.

Tourettes is supposed to have warm and temperate climate owing to more rainfalls during winter season in comparison to the summers. The climate is classified into Csa category as per Koppen and Geiger classification system. The average temperature and annual average rainfall in the city is 13.3 °C and 843 mm respectively. With an average temperature of 21.1 °C, July is the hottest month of the year. In contrast to this, the month of January is considered to be the coldest with average temperature of 6.3 °C. There is variation of 14.8 °C throughout the year. The months of November and July are the wettest and driest months of the year respectively.
