Mississippi is a state of the United States situated in the southern area of the United States. The capital of the state is Jackson. It is also the largest city in the state. The state is known for the world-recognized Mississippi River on its western front and hence its name. There are heavy and dense forests exterior to Mississippi Delta Area amid the state and the Yazoo Rivers. The name of the state has been derived from the Ojibwe word ‘misi-ziibi’ that stands for ‘Great River’. The state is well-known for various tourist attractions including Old Courthouse Museum, Rock & Blues Heritage Museum, Gulf Islands National Seashore to name a few.
