Castalla is a city in the Alicante province in Spain. It is located in the comacra of L’ Alcoia in a mountainous region. It is at a distance of 35km from Alicante. The exact location of the city is at the foothill. It is at a height of 680m above sea level. There is a valley called as Castalla La Hoya around which the city is spread. In fact, it occupies the west and southwest of La Hoya. Some of the adjoining mountains are Maigmó mountains, Cati and Argenya.Basically, Castalla is a fortress town. Due to presence of mountains around the city, there is pleasant climate all around the year. There is easy accessibility to the city via A-7. It is connected to Alicante as well as Valencia through this route. The major source of income for most local people is agriculture or faring. It includes grapes, olives and almonds. Also there are some industries such as those of toys, furniture, textiles and construction materials.
