Santa Pola is a coastal city located in Alicante Spain. It is situated close to the Mediterranean Sea in the Comarca of Baix Vinalopo. Currently, it is considered to be a coastal fishing town with numerous tourist spots. It has an area of approx. 58.6sq.km. It is worth noting that this town got established on the remnants of a Roman village known as Portus Ilicitanus. It is known for salt evaporation pond called as salines. It is known by the name Natural Park of Salines de Santa Pola. The city got its name from the Saint Paula. The city is also considered to be a great destination for kite surfers.
