The Kenai Peninsula is one of the largest Peninsulas that protrude from Alaska’s southern coast. The name Kenai has been derived from the Russian name Kenayskaya which means Cook Inlet, that boarder the Kenai Peninsula to west. The peninsula stretches approximately up to 240 km southwest from Chugach Mountains which fall on the south of Anchorage. Most part of the peninsula belongs to Kenai Peninsula Borough.
