Colorado is a state in United States which largely comprises of rocky terrains, mountains and plateaus. It was named after the Colorado River, which Spanish travelers used for transportation in the 19th century. The state was formed in the year 1876 and was nicknamed as ‘Centennial’ state due to centennial of US Declaration of Independence. Surrounded by other states, the state of Colorado is known for its wide landscape of high plains, beautiful mountains, dense forests, and rivers.

The name given to the people of this state is ‘Coloradans’ with Denver being the capital and the most populous city of this state.
