Grouped along New York and New Jersey and also known as ‘Tri-State area’, the state of Connecticut is geographically located as the southernmost state of United States. Named after the Connecticut River, a major river in United States, the state of Connecticut is one of the smallest in terms of area. The early settlers in this region were Europeans mainly Dutch. They established the first settlement, reminiscences of which are still visible in the region’s history. Surrounded by Long Island Sound, New York, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island, the capital city of the state is Hartford. Connecticut River Valley is the most populous metropolitan region with abundance of natural beauty like mountains, farms, and coast.
