Oregon is situated in Pacific Northwest province of United States of America. The state is bordered by Pacific Ocean to its left, Washington on North, with California on the south and Idaho on its east. The northern boundary of Oregon is defined by Columbia River and Snake River defines eastern boundary of the State. Oregon is one among the three important states of U.S. to have Pacific Ocean as its coastline.
An independent government got formed in 1843, in Oregon Country; later Oregon Territory got created in the year 1848. Oregon was the 33rd state in the union of United States on the 14th of February, 1859. Salem is the capital of Oregon and is the state which stands second in population. The largest city is Portland and it has the 29th place among other U.S. cities.
