Holding the distinction of one of the biggest states in the southwestern part of the US, South Carolina State was established in the last decade of the 18th century. The beautiful state is known for its attractive beaches and marsh like Sea Islands.
Per the current scenario, South Carolina is nation's leading peach and agricultural produce, due to high fertility of the agricultural soil. Nicknamed as Palmetto State because of the abundance of Palmetto tree, South Carolina State is home to numerous textile and other mills. Of the only two commercial tea plantations in the United States, one plantation is located 20 miles south of Charleston on Wadmalaw Island.
The port city of Charleston is rich in asbestos, wood, pulp, steel products, chemicals, machinery, and apparel. The other added attraction for the state are, its own printed currency, world’s largest collection of outdoor sculptures.
